There’s (potentially) exciting news for all of J. Crew’s shoppers out there. It’s been rumored that the popular retailer will begin selling a new and less expensive line of clothing. The new line being launched will be titled “J. Crew Mercantile,” a name that the company had trademarked back in November.

The line, according to The Wall Street Journal, will feature “merchandise and prices closer to what shoppers would find at J. Crew Factory, than what is available in its full-line stores.” Unlike a Factory store however, J. Crew’s Mercantile stores will be located in more general and easily accessible shopping areas such as shopping malls. So far, the company has signed several leases and is seeking out additional retail locations – in other words, this new deal appears to be certain. Here’s hoping that the rumors are true so that J.
